Think pink.
I didn't want to distract anyone from the Sneakerversary, but now that the main party is done, I have to tell you... I was really pleased with my photos of my Mammogram Mohair Scarf (previously mentioned in this post and then this one). It's done, and it is kind of fabulous. I just found out that this photo might be in the (Sunday!) October 4 paper! It's true - as part of a story about the Hoosier Artisan Holiday Boutique! By the way, yes, when you come see me on the 17th, I will be wearing my new Buy Handmade t-shirt!
Edited to add: turns out the photo was not used, but the scarf was mentioned -although I was not the person credited with knitting the scarf. At least the details of the Hoosier Artisan Holiday Boutique were correct!
Don't go tellin' my momma, now, or my aunt - I want them to read about 50% of the scarf's proceeds being donated to Aunt Eldena's American Cancer Society Relay For Life team when I send them the page out of the newspaper! Hee hee!

Another Sneaky Treasury!
In celebration of the Sneakerversary tomorrow (it's not too late to enter the HUGE giveaway... I may have mentioned the giveaway before), I got this Treasury West - featuring both "boys" on our team.

This is not the giant bucket full of awesomeness you're looking for.
Jedi mind trick didn't work on you, did it? Sigh. I knew you'd click on that giveaway link on the left and enter the GIANT SNEAKERVERSARY GIVEAWAY to steal all those goodies away from me. The wool/alpaca neck-warmer I made is in there, too - so of course I know that's the reason you couldn't resist entering. Right? It couldn't have anything to do with the other $300-worth of beautiful handmade items in the basket with it, I'm sure. Right?

Pirates are Sneaky.
Talk Like a Pirate Day is fast approaching, and thus the avatar theme for today's Sneak Attack thread is pirates. Check out my bee (at left), readers, and take a look at my new Treasury while you're waiting for tonight's Sneak Attack.
It just occurred to me that I really should have turned one of the bee's balls of yarn into a cannonball. Ah, well. Hindsight is 20/20.

It's a hoot so far!
This candle holder (although since there's paper involved I'll be including an LED candle) is the first thing I've completed in Tink's label project. What do you think?

The leaves have started to turn!
And look at this great Treasury that fellow Sneaker VE put my scarf in! Which reminds me, there's a Sneak Attack tonight, and I'm sponsoring it! We're going to descend upon three shops (one has zero sales, and the other two each have only one sale) and shop to give them a boost! Want to know more? Come on over.

Treasury Madness!
It's just going to be easier for me to provide links so you can see all this for yourself. Ready?
Fellow Sneaker justjanesthings has put my holiday gift tags in a red hot Treasury.
InALather, who's on the INCrowdteam with me, has put my orange and black Halloween hat in a very autumnal Treasury West.
Then here's my Treasury West. Oh, and the Drive-In Treasury I made, which you already know about.
Go forth! Love! Click! Shop!

Drive-Ins Treasury
My new Treasury is meant to be a loving look back at the Joshua Drive-In of my childhood and the Clermont Deeeeluxe Outdoor Theee-yater (that's how the lady on the showtimes recording said it) of my youth.
We would go to the Joshua Drive-In in our 1973 Dodge Sportsman van with the orange-striped curtains my mother made. We'd wear our pajamas so there wouldn't be any need to change sleeping children into them when we got home after a double feature. My mom would pop what seemed to be TONS of popcorn, and each kid would get their own giant paper grocery bag of corn, with the edge folded down in a neat cuff.
Clermont is where The Boys and I used to go at least once a year, even if there was nothing good showing. Usually, it was for Kevinfest - and if you told the snack bar personnel the birthday person's name, they would announce it over a loudspeaker before the show! My favorite treats there were the popcorn and giant dill pickles with the occasional corndog or frozen-chocolate-shake-with-tiny-wooden-spoon. There is nothing (really - NOTHING) like watching the lightning bugs (a.k.a. fireflies) come out at the drive-in.
My big brother spoke his first word at a drive-in, by the way - he said "moom" when he saw the moon through a window!

Sneaky sneaky sneaky!
On Thursday September 3, I am co-sponsoring a S.N.E.A.K. Attack with TinkersShop! The avatar theme in the thread, for those who feel like puttin' on a "special outfit," is The Birds and The Bees.
Haven't heard about Sneak Attacks yet?
Two days per week, one to three Etsy shops with few or no sales are chosen as a "victim,” and at a given time multiple buyers all visit the site and buy one or more items each, resulting in a whole slew of surprise business in a very short time. It’s a great way to give a big boost to new Etsy shops!
Thursday's sneak attack will be at 7:00 PM EDT.
You can participate by going to The Handmade Movement at or soon after 7:00pm and you'll see the chosen shop's names listed. Then go to that shop and purchase an item, making sure to include the words "Sneak Attack" in the "message to seller". The shop owners will also be informed of what is happening so they know just what is going on. Don’t worry about being too late for the attack! If the shop names are still up there, you can still go and make a purchase!
Even if you can't make a purchase you can still help by giving the thread listed on the website an occasional bump and spreading the word.

The best laid plans...
I had a cool Treasury all Poster Sketched and planned out for this morning; I typed in the title and hit "okay, create," the screen froze and poof, it was gone. I've looked for my name, just in case there's an empty Treasury out there, to no avail. While searching, I did see that my Sneak Teammate justjanesthings had snagged one, and put some of my gift tags in it! So then I flip back to the Sneak Team thread and find out that another teammate, hildeguardslair, had put my Bears scarf in another Treasury! So it's turning out to be a delightful day!
